My preferred area of practice is Personal Injury management and litigation. I have practised in this area for approximately 20 years and have settled and litigated thousands of cases involving a wide range of issues, including liability assessments with the retention of applicable accident reconstruction expertise.
I assess the compensation applicable to various types of injury, and try to achieve fair, equitable recovery through skillful negotiation or—if necessary—trial advocacy. I co-ordinate medical and rehabilitative needs. I arrange for comprehensive medical, vocational and economic assessments to establish the impact of the injury on my client’s function, to explore treatment options to maximize that function, and to determine entitlement to compensation.
Between 1984 and 1990, I practised with a large Vancouver firm representing insurers (including the ICBC) and defending personal injury claims. I attribute the current success and growth of my practice to the experience I obtained during this period as well as to the development of a referral-based clientele, which is Province-wide and includes referrals from fellow B.C. lawyers.
Being a lawyer empowers me to be like a modern-day “David” in seeking retribution for injured victims against the “Goliath” insurance companies.
I cherish the responsibility and confidence that clients have instilled in me in representing their needs, and endeavour to ensure that the solicitor-client relationship is built on a foundation of trust, respect and understanding.
