Fees and Credit Policy
Payment for our services is dependent upon the nature of the case:
For Personal Injury & ICBC Claims, our files are usually handled on a contingency fee basis. The fee depends upon the successful resolution of the case and is a percentage of the settlement awarded to our client. Thus, no recovery means no legal fee. We also finance all necessary disbursements in the prosecution of a claim until conclusion.
Our Commercial & Corporate Law and Commercial & Civil Litigation departments charge an hourly rate or flat fee retainer, depending on the nature of the legal matter.
At the outset, we discuss our fees with our clients. We explain all disbursements—“out of pocket expenses” such as court costs, land title fees, long distance calls, fax charges, etc. Our agreements are reduced to writing. You will know the precise terms of our retainer from the beginning of our relationship.
Initial consultations are always without cost or commitment.
