The ideal candidate will be capable of handling an active file load within a busy Personal Injury department and will display client development potential. He or she will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and will want to grow their practice. Preference will be given to applicants who have a background in Plaintiff’s Personal Injury, specifically dealing with ICBC. We are currently seeking an Intermediate Legal Administrative Assistant to join our personal injury department. This role is responsible for: requesting medical documents, employment documents, and all other supporting documents; interacting with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsels, medical practitioners, etc.; setting client appointments; general management of personal injury files and other duties as required by Lawyer. Qualifications:
minimum 3 years’ experience as an LAA in a busy litigation practice, experience in personal injury would prove to be a major asset; successful completion of an LAA certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution; the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines; strong verbal and written communication skills, fluency in Vietnamese would be deemed a major asset, and a team-oriented personality.
We have an excellent opportunity within our Personal Injury department for a Senior Litigation Support person. This position would suit an experienced Paralegal or Bodily Injury/ICBC Adjuster. In addition to managing your own file load, you will be providing general assistance to lawyers; meeting with clients during the initial intake; conducting client updates and other client meetings. In addition other tasks will include: analyzing documents for relevance and for producible and privileged purposes; reviewing, analyzing and organizing opposing parties’ documents; reviewing and summarizing clinical records and medical reports; maintaining the file, including file organization; assisting in facilitating Part 7 benefits for the clients; corresponding with ICBC, third parties and clients by telephone, email and letter; assessing damages for a file and preparing demands/mediation summaries and drafting correspondence on lawyer’s behalf. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ of Paralegal or Bodily Injury/ICBC Adjuster experience. He or she must be comfortable with managing people and handling a large file load. The ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment is paramount to the success of the role.
We have an excellent opportunity within our Civil Litigation department for an intermediate Paralegal/LAA hybrid. This position would suit an experienced Legal Assistant who has recently completed their Paralegal certificate. This role is responsible for: file preparation and management; daily communication with clients, experts and opposing counsel; time entry and billings; booking court dates and discoveries; organization and assembly of chambers records, books of authorities, appeal records and appeal books; preparation of List of Documents and Bill of Costs and other general and administrative tasks as required. Qualifications: a minimum 3 years’ experience as an LAA in a busy civil litigation practice, experience in strata or finance would prove to be a major asset; successful completion of an LAA certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution and the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our pleadings desk. This role is responsible for: drafting, amending and filing Notice of Civil Claims; out-of-province plate searches; serving pleadings; property/company searches and general management of pleadings desk and other duties as required by Lawyer. Qualifications: minimum 2 years’ experience as an LAA in a busy litigation practice, experience in drafting pleadings is a requirement; successful completion of an LAA certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution, the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
